Anti wrinkle injections (botox)
Treatment of Facial Lines & Wrinkles
This is one of the most popular & exciting cosmetic treatments available for facial rejuvenation. Many celebrities are taking advantage of this particular treatment to combat lines & wrinkles.
Facial lines are caused primarily by repeated use of facial muscles on the skin in a particular manner. Just as a freshly ironed shirt will become severely creased at the elbow as a result of bending the arm, similarly our facial lines and wrinkles form whenever we frown, smile or squint. With passing of time these lines become deeper and permanent making you look older.
The treatment is simple and involves placing a tiny amount of botulinum toxin to specific superficial muscles which relaxes them and softens the expression lines to leave the skin smooth, refreshed and younger looking...
Men and Women
Botulinum toxin is very successful in treating areas such as the deep crease between the eyebrows, crow's feet wrinkles and forehead lines. It is also used for brow lift, and popply chins. Botulinum toxin is suitable for both men and women.
The treatment takes around 25 minutes and a thorough consultation is carried out part of which is done via the telephone with a Harley St Dr, called Mark Harrison to ensure that he is satisfied for the treatment to go ahead before he prescribes it. Depending on the number of areas injected it can be carried out in a lunchtime session. If at anytime you change your mind about having the treatment that is absolutely fine - do not feel obliged to go ahead with it if you're not sure. The results will be seen within a week, though it may take longer. The effects last for around 3-4 months but will increase overtime with repeated treatment.
Botulinum toxin is a safe cosmetic treatment with minimal risk and has been used in cosmetic practice for more than ten years.
Side effects of this treatment are rare, but can include some tenderness or bruising at the site of injection. In less than 1% of people treated with wrinkle relaxing injections can cause weakness in muscles near to the site of injection resulting in a slight and temporary droop of the eyelid or eyebrow. It is advised to reduce the risk of this happening that you don't lie or bend down for 4 hours after the treatment. It also advised not to fly within 3 days of having botox treatment.
Who should not have Botox wrinkle relaxing treatment?
Studies have not been performed on women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Although wrinkle relaxing treatment is not thought to be dangerous, treatment is best avoided during this time. Some people with certain muscle diseases may also not be suitable for treatment.
